Dr. Richard Lee, MD, MBA joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as a professor of surgery, a vice chair of surgery and co-director of the Center for Comprehensive Cardiovascular Care in 2012. Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois, College of Medicine and his Master of Business Administration from Washington University John M Olin School of Business. He completed his surgical residency at Rush Medical Center, his cardiothoracic surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine and his adult cardiac surgery and heart transplantation fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  

Board-certified in surgery and thoracic surgery, Dr. Lee is a member of the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, the American Association for Thoracic Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Surgeons and the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.

Dr. Lee has clinical expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, valve disease, atrial fibrillation and coronary artery disease. In addition to patient care and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Lee has research interests in heart valve disease and arrhythmia.
