Dr. Xuefei Yang was born in Luoyang (China) in 1979. She is a graduate of Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (MD, PhD). She received training in General Surgery at Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. She ever visited islet lab of the University of Pennsylvania school of medicine in 2006 and participated NIH research project about clinical islet transplantation. She visited Cleveland Clinic for colorectal surgery in 2016. After completing 6-year working in Shenzhen People’s Hospital joined the faculty at the University of the University of Hong Kong-Shenzhen Hospital in 2013 and is currently colorectal surgeon.
The scope of practice of Dr. Xuefei Yang includes mini-invasive colorectal surgery, abdominal hernia surgery, emergent gastrointestinal surgery and endoscopic treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. Her current major research direction is surgery for low rectal cancer. She has published three textbooks about mini-invasive gastrointestinal surgery and surgical treatment for abdominal emergency as chief or vice chief editor in People’s Medical Publishing House, Beijing, China. They were “Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery” (2010), “Abdominal Surgical Emergency” (2013), and “Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery (Edition 2)” (2016). She has 11 Chinese patents of surgical instruments including 1 Chinese invention patent. She is also very active in clinical research in special field and has published more than 20 academic articles in civil and international journals. She is responsible for clinical training of medical students and residents in routine clinical work and is very experienced in the field.
