Dr. Xinxiang Li is currently the professor and associate director of colorectal surgery in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center, China. He also serves as the chairman of the Rectal Cancer Prevention and Treatment Committee of the Chinese Society of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, vice chairman of the Committee of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Endoscopy of the Chinese Association of Colorectal Surgeons. He received his doctorate from the Second Military Medical University in Shanghai, and trained in the Minimal Invasive Surgery of Cleveland Clinic Florida. During his practice in Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center, Dr. Li successfully performed over 2,000 cases of laparoscopic colorectal surgeries, and accumulated rich experiences in the laparoscopic surgery and laparoscopic ultra-low anus-preserving surgery for elderly patients with colorectal cancer. He has won several awards for his outstanding work in laparoscopic colorectal surgery in China. Dr. Li was invited to contribute the development of the Handbooks for Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery (SAGES Manual). Dr. Li’s research focuses on colorectal surgery (especially in laparoscopic surgery). He is the principal investigator of many research projects. He has authored or co-authored about 30 original articles or reviews in the past three years.
