Dr. Weili Fu received his MD at Department of Orthopedic Surgery, West China Hospital, Sichuan University in 2009 and his PhD at Institute of Sports Medicine, Peking University Third Hospital in 2012. After his return to Chengdu, he joined in Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Surgery, where there are more than 1500 operation cases per year. In 2016, he worked as a visiting scholar / clinical observer at Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
His main research interests are clinical outcome studies of minimally invasive surgery for sports injuries, as well as translational research on musculoskeletal regeneration. He is in charge of five grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and other supports. He has published nine articles in the source of SCI journals. He is also a reviewer for four medical journals, including The American Journal of Sports Medicine, Chinese Journal of Sports Medicine, Chinese Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research. He got two awards: one is 2017 International Cartilage Repair Society– Lars Peterson Travelling Fellowship in Europe for 2 weeks; the other is 2015 The ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine) Young Investigator's Scholarship in Lyon.
