Dr. Litle obtained her MD degree from the Brown-Dartmouth Program-in-Medicine in 1990, general surgery training at the University of California, San Francisco and cardiothoracic training at the University of Pittsburgh. She is a Co-chair of the ESTS/AATS VTE Working Group. Her expertise includes general thoracic surgery, minimally invasive approaches to esophageal diseases and thoracic surgical education and mentorship. Apart from being an invited speaker to international conferences, Dr. Litle is a past president of Women in Thoracic Surgery and plays an active role in numerous organizations, including the Cardiothoracic Surgery Network, Society of Thoracic Surgeons and American Association of Thoracic Surgery. She also has authored numerous articles on clinical and translational research in the field of thoracic surgery.
