Tao Suo, MD, PhD

Dr. Suo graduated from Shanghai Medical University (1995) and Fudan University (2004), respectively, received bachelor and doctorate degree of medicine. He finished resident training in general surgery at Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University. After completing a half-year visiting in Clinical Science, Lund University (Sweden), he was promoted to deputy chief physician (associate professor) in 2012. Two years later, he was appointed Associate Director of Biliary Branch, Department of General Surgery, Zhongshan Hospital. He was involved in the creation Clinical Skills Training Center of Zhongshan Hospital and was appointed Deputy Director, responsible for the work of surgical group of the center.

Dr. Suo is an experienced biliary surgeon who has long been engaged in the clinical work of biliary benign and malignant diseases. He specializes in laparoscopic treatment for cholecystolithiasis and choledochotithiasis, treatment of more than 400 patients each year. He also has extensive experience in the comprehensive management of biliary malignancies, especially the treatment of accident gallbladder cancer. He is also committed to promoting the development of standardized treatment of emergency biliary diseases in China. Dr. Suo joined Chinese Society of Surgical Oncology (CSSO) in 2014, and was selected as a Youth Member of Biliary Tumor Committee, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association in 2015. He has published several papers on the field of biliary surgery in peer-reviewed journals.
