One of the most recent advances in the field of minimally invasive thoracic surgery has been the use of robotic surgical systems in lung resections. However, the robotic platform has developed unequivocally in the past decade. This issue on “Robotic Surgery for Lung Resection”, guest edited by Dr. Alper Toker, attempts to increase the knowledge of the readers in a comprehensive and contemporary way for the appropriate utilization of this complex technology in lung resections, which we hope will also be conducive to patients as well as the growth of young surgeons.
